What is a Fax Line?
Last Update: August 9th, 2021
Definition
A fax line is a phone line that is primarily intended for fax use. It can also be used as a regular phone line.
Usage
Fax lines are phone lines that are attached only to a fax machine.
The only difference between a phone line and fax line in regards to infrastructure is that a fax line has to be a traditional analog phone line. Many phone lines have migrated to VoIP or internet-enabled technology, most of it incompatible with fax.
