Users in Canada should use this supplement as an extra piece to the overall review – this provides notes that may be of interest to the users in the Canadian market.
RingCentral’s Canadian Service Summary

Local Canadian fax numbers are available, as well as separate billing in Canadian dollar currency.
Differences from US Based Service
We can find no differences in features or functions in the Canadian version of RingCentral’s fax service compared with the US version of the service.
French Language Service and Support
We can find no french language service and support for Canadian customers of RingCentral.
Canadian Phone Number Availability
- Canadian Based Local Fax Numbers? Yes
- Canadian Based Toll Free Numbers? Yes
- Canadian Based Vanity Numbers? Yes
RingCentral is reasonably well equipped with Canadian based phone numbers. From a quick search of cities across Canada, we can find local numbers to available to most of the major metropolitan areas in the country, and to all provinces with the exception of Prince Edward Island (Moncton and Halifax / Dartmouth numbers are the closest available).
Users will find that coverage is good but not perfect, for example at the time of writing, Saskatchewan users have the choice of numbers from Regina but not Saskatoon, Ontario users have the choice of numbers for Grimsby, Kanata, or Tecumseh, but not for Thunder Bay (Sudbury / North Bay / Sault Ste. Marie Numbers are available), BC users have options such as Chemanius and Whonnock, but no Kelowna or Kamloops, while New Brunswick users have Moncton numbers available but no Fredericton or St. John options. The majority of area codes have coverage, however specific cities may be limited.
Canadian Based Billing
- Canadian Currency Pricing? Yes
- Canada-wide Faxing included in Pricing? Yes (prices include service to any number in Canada or the USA)
RingCentral offers services priced in Canadian currency. We find this helpful for Canadian users as it limits the exchange rate charges and pricing changes that can happen with purchasing from a US based service.
Faxing to any number in Canada or the United States is included in the “local” coverage for both toll free and locally based fax numbers.
Location of Servers and Service for Canadian Based Customers
- RingCentral Headquarters Location: San Mateo, California, USA
- Canadian Subsidiary?: No
- Server Location: Undetermined, most likely across the United States
Canadian based customers should be aware that while RingCentral has service branded for Canadians, the service is still operated out of the United States, with no Canadian based subsidiary.
As well, it is likely that information faxed through the service between two Canadian fax numbers could pass through servers located outside of Canada. While we have found no Tier 1 service that offers “Canadian only” server infrastructure, we feel that this is an important note for Canadian customers, and a feature to the service we think would be beneficial to Canadian customers in the future.
Customer Service Hour Availability
RingCentral customer service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and therefore available to all hours convenient to both Pacific and Atlantic coast customers.
RingCentral offers some good options for Canadian based users, and in most scenarios works out as the best fit for Canadians looking for a low to mid volume fax number with Canada focused service.
While the service is Canadian branded, billed in Canadian currency, and has features directed at Canadian users, consumers should still be aware this is, at its core, still a US based service.
