What is a Collating Party?

Last Update: August 9th, 2021

Definition

A collating party is a term used for manually collating large documents.

Usage

These parties can happen with only one person. However, more people are usually involved. The parties frequently take place in boardrooms, although desks and small tables are a perfectly suitable place for a collating party.

During a collating party, each part of the document is printed into separate piles.

Once all the piles are in place, each larger document is assembled by piling the parts of the documents together in the right order.
