Last Update: August 9th, 2021
Yes, a fax will go through after business hours.
For the fax to go through, the receiving fax machine will have to:
- Be turned on
- Set to automatically receive faxes (the default setting)
- Have enough toner & paper to print the fax.
Common business hours in most industrialized nations are Monday – Friday, 8a.m. to 5p.m. Some parts of the world use a different work week (e.g. many middle eastern nations have a Sunday – Thursday work week).
How do I know if my fax went through?
When your fax goes through you will receive a confirmation page.
The confirmation page is proof of receipt that you successfully sent the fax. It includes information about the time and date that you sent the document, as well as the sending and receiving fax machines.
Will will my fax count as “received”?
There may be a legal question of when the fax is received. In some regions, a fax sent after business hours but before midnight will be recorded as being received that day. In other regions, it will be recorded as received the following business day.
