What is a coded dial? Definition and usage

LAST UPDATE: October 9th, 2017

“Coded dial” is a feature used as a shortcut to quickly dial frequent fax numbers. We’ve only seen the feature on Canon fax machines.

With coded dial, a fax number is saved in the fax machine and is given a shortcut code. The coded dial feature can then dial the fax number with the shortcut code instead of dialing the entire fax number.
